confirmation

WHAT IS CONFIRMATION?

WHAT CONFIRMATION IS NOT

Confirmation is instruction in the Christian faith.  Confirming the baptismal covenant, and  publicly affirming a living and personal faith in Jesus Christ.
Confirmation is not a sacrament, nor is it commandment. It is a privilege, not a right, and is designed to help our children identify their place within the life of the church.

Why is confirmation important?

Biblical Instruction

We use the Bible as well as Luther's Small Catechism to teach Biblical truth, we are convicted of sin by the law, but shown forgiveness in the Gospel.

Strengthening Of Faith

In the early teen years when many young people are beginning to wrestle with faith questions, doubts, and the assurance of salvation.

Celebrate Baptism

Confirmation helps students begin to identify with and become involved in the adult Christian community.

Lord's Supper

Confirmation  equips one to rightly partake of the Lord’s Supper. It is NOT a graduation,  it is the beginning steps in our journey of faith.
